How we decide what to publish, and how we keep it honest.

HORAKAA is a watch journal made in India, covering the world. This page explains the rules we hold ourselves to, so you can judge our work for yourself.

Who writes HORAKAA

Every story is researched, written and edited by the Horakaa team, based in India, and published under one shared byline. Each piece goes through the same process, and the team stands behind every article.

Facts and sources

• Facts come from brand announcements, official specifications and product pages, and established watch publications. We list sources at the end of every article.
• Where a claim is only the brand’s own, such as “the first” or “the most accurate”, we say so.
• Prices are checked on the date shown at the bottom of the article. Prices and stock change daily, so check the live listing before you buy.
• For watches priced in other currencies, we show the converted rupee price and an estimate of customs duty and landed cost, and we state the exchange rate and the date we used.

Opinion versus fact

Our own views are labelled as ours, in the text and in the sources note. When we say a watch is good value, a dial is too busy, or we would pass on a purchase, that is the team’s opinion, formed by handling the watch or studying its specifications. We try to say why, so you can disagree.

Hands-on pieces and review watches

In a hands-on article, “we” means we have handled the watch. We say how we got it and whether it was bought by us or supplied by the brand. A brand never gets to read or approve a hands-on before it is published, and supplying a watch does not buy a good verdict.

Independence and money

Brands do not pay to be featured. If we ever run sponsored content, a paid partnership, advertising or affiliate links, we will label them clearly, and they will not change what we write. We have no commercial interest in any brand we cover.

Images

We use images from brand press kits and brand websites first, with a credit under each one. Where we use our own photographs, we say so. We do not use images that show a watch unclearly or misleadingly. If you are the rights holder of an image and want it credited differently or removed, email hello@horakaa.com and we will act promptly. See also our Image Credits & Disclaimer page.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction on the article. To report an error, email hello@horakaa.com with the article name and what you found.

Updates

Prices, availability and stock for launches change quickly. We update articles when we can, and the date on the sources note shows when we last checked.
