Tissot’s PRX Skeleton for Damian Lillard goes bigger, opens up and winds by hand

Global Launches. Tissot’s popular PRX takes on a burgundy skeleton, a hand-wound movement and a pocket-watch party trick.

Tissot’s PRX has become the brand’s calling card by being sensible: a 1970s-style integrated sports watch at a fair price. Its second collaboration with the NBA’s Damian Lillard is not sensible at all, and that is exactly why it is interesting.

A PRX with firsts

The new PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition is the first PRX with a skeletonised dial, the first with a hand-wound movement, and at 44 mm the largest PRX case so far. It follows the 40 mm, gold-coloured Powermatic 80 edition that Tissot made with Lillard in 2024. Lillard, a Tissot ambassador since 2021, is known as Dame Time, and the new watch leans into the nickname: it is engraved on the side of the case and on the ring around the small seconds, and the seconds hand is shaped like his monogram.

It launched on 21 October, timed with the Portland Trail Blazers’ season opener against the Phoenix Suns. It is a special edition, not a numbered, limited one.

Burgundy, open and busy

Burgundy runs through the design. A burgundy ring frames the hour track, another supports the faceted indexes on the inside, and a third encircles the small seconds at nine o’clock, with a gold-toned track and the monogram hand. The hour and minute hands carry Super-LumiNova. Through the open dial you see the movement doing its work, and through the sapphire caseback you see more of it, with Lillard’s signature printed on the glass.

The movement

Instead of the automatic Powermatic 80 used in most PRX models, Tissot has used a hand-wound skeleton movement based on the ETA Unitas 6497, a calibre that is old, well understood and happy to be wound every day. That ritual is the point. The numbers vary by source: Monochrome quotes a 46-hour power reserve in its text and 43 hours in its spec list, WatchPro says 43, and Tissot’s own figure, as reported by Notebookcheck, is up to 52. We would ask a retailer before relying on any of them.

Two straps and a pocket watch

The watch comes with two quick-release burgundy straps, one rubber and one leather. The rubber one carries a crosshatched pattern that recalls the milk crates Lillard used as makeshift hoops as a child. Then comes the surprise: a conversion kit with a leather holder and a chain lets you lift the case off the strap and carry it as a pocket watch, or clip it to a bag. It is the same idea as the pocket-watch conversion in Swatch’s Royal Pop, and as one outlet put it, it gives the PRX a more premium feel.

The catch, and the price in India

The catch is size. At 44 mm, 11.2 mm thick and 95 g, this is a big watch, and Notebookcheck warns it may be too large for smaller wrists. On price, Tissot lists it at ₹2,11,500 in India and $2,075 in the United States. In Europe it is €1,895 or CHF 1,735, and in the UK £1,720. Our rough conversion of the dollar price, at ₹95.5 to the dollar, is about ₹1.98 lakh, so the Indian list price sits a little above it. That is the number to compare when you shop locally.
